3年前の私は、中学受験をするのは当たり前、それには小3の2月から進学塾に通わないと間に合わない。それまでは〇文で基礎力をつけておこう、そんな逆算思考で息子に習い事をさせていました。
が、まずもって、息子には〇文は残念ながら全く合っていませんでした。
嫌々やるので、なかなか進まない。雑になる。間違いだらけ。
それを見てイライラする私。泣きながら解く息子。
毎日宿題バトルの地獄絵図・・・。
これを続けていても埒が明かないな、ひたすら計算とかだから嫌なんだろう。
あと半年くらいで受験勉強始まるし、今から慣らしで塾に行かせよう！そう決めたのは、3年生の夏。
が、最初こそ楽しそうに通っていたものの、あっという間にまた宿題バトルの地獄絵図に逆戻りでした。
そりゃそうです。ダメ出しばっかり、命令口調でガミガミうるさい親。
何の楽しさも見いだせないのにやらされ感満載でやる勉強。
でも、この時の私は、「自分が悪い」とは微塵も思ってませんでした。
なんでこの子は言われたことをちゃんとやれないんだろう？？
さっさとやったら15分で終わるのに！！
どっかおかしいのでは？本気でそう思ってました。
とはいえ、このままでは家庭崩壊してしまう、でももう中学受験の勉強始まっちゃうから早くなんとかせねば、そう思った私は、何とかして私がうるさく言わずに自分で勉強させてくれる塾はないものか、と藁をもすがる勢いで探した結果出会ったのが、「ガミガミ言わなくても勉強する子に育てる」このキーワード。

その結果、毎日友達と外で走り回り、「俺って最高―！！」と自己肯定感がとんでもなく高い息子に。
「楽しことは好きだけど、リーダー役とかは面倒だからやりたくない」、とずっと言っていたのに、6年生の今、いつのまにか自らリーダー役を買って出るようになり、学校の先生からも「仲間の中心となって行事を支えてくれます。クラスの仲間からの信頼は厚いです」とそんな嬉しいことを言ってもらえるような存在になっていました。
そんな息子、一度は早々に完全撤退した中学受験。実は、最終的には受験しました。
